I have known Keola since he was a child. His dad, Ben, and I are very good friends, and we grew up in the small rural community of Waimea on the Big Island. Keola was raised on a Hawaiian Homes farm, as his dad and mom, Nancy, worked so very hard to give their children not only solid values but also the best opportunity to achieve a meaningful life. Over the years I followed with great interest as Keola progressed from Waimea Elementary school to the Hawaii Preparatory Academy, to the University of Hawaii, and eventually to starting a career and a family.
When the name “Keola Lindsey” is mentioned, Four words come to my mind: Integrity. Compassion, Humbleness, and Hardwork. Keola Lindsey is the exact kind of young person we need as a leader and decision maker for Hawaii today.
