Keola is our nephew. He is my husband’s (Bob) brother’s (Benjamin) son. Keola, is keiki o ka ‘aina o Waimea. Bob and I, have watched Keola grow up into a fine, industrious, model Hawaiian family man. Raised on a DHHL Pu’ukapu homestead farm, Keola is ‘aina ho’opulapula and knows the value of work, of being close to the earth and loyal to the land. He understands, the ‘land is ali’i and that we are it’s servant.’ His mom and dad, placed a high emphasis on education. Thus. he has received the best education they could provide him. Consequently, he is as handy and comfortable with a hoe, sickle, o’o and weed whacker as he is with a pen, iPad, iPhone and desk top computer. Keola, in our opinion will make a great ‘servant leader.’ He is a good listener, team player, collaborator. Keola has a good heart and a good mind. We are so very proud of Keola. We are blessed to have him as our number one, Lindsey nephew. We wish him all the best as he pursues a seat at our People’s table.
